KVVR control cable is a flexible multi-core cable designed for control, monitoring and protection circuits with rated AC voltage up to 450/750V. Its flexible construction makes it particularly suitable for indoor installations where frequent movement or moderate flexing is required during service. The cable uses polyvinyl chloride (PVC) both as insulation and as outer sheath, providing a cost-effective and reliable solution for light industrial, building automation and signaling applications.

Conductor

Plain annealed copper wires, stranded for flexibility (Class 2 or Class 5 according to the specific design), ensuring excellent conductivity and ease of handling.

Insulation

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) compound, color-coded with black insulation and white printed numbers for core identification. For cables with 3 cores and above, a yellow/green earth core is available as an option.

Inner Covering

Non-woven fabric tape wrapping provides a smooth bedding and additional mechanical buffering before sheath application.

Outer Sheath

PVC compound, available in black (RAL 9005) or grey (RAL 7001) as standard. The sheath offers good resistance to oils, chemicals and abrasion in indoor environments.

What does KVVR stand for in control cables?
K indicates a control cable series per Chinese standard. VV refers to PVC insulation and PVC sheath, and R stands for flexible conductor. So KVVR is a flexible PVC/PVC control cable.

Where can KVVR cables be used?

What’s the difference between KVV and KVVR?
