RVVY Oil Resistant Cable (300/500V)
Product Overview
The RVVY oil resistant flexible cable is engineered for fixed installation or occasional free movement without tensile stress in dry or humid indoor environments. It delivers dependable power and control connectivity to machine tools, woodworking machinery, grinding machines and general industrial equipment where exposure to oil, moisture and moderate mechanical stress is routine. The cable is waterproof, oil resistant, cold resistant and flame retardant. While its flex life surpasses standard building wire, RVVY is not rated for drag chain or continuous flex applications.
Rated for ambient operating temperatures up to +40 °C (typical machine hall conditions) and capable of withstanding a wide conductor temperature range, the cable combines safety with long service life.
Applications
- Power and control wiring for machine tools, woodworking equipment, grinding and polishing machines
- Assembly lines, packaging systems, and auxiliary industrial equipment
- Indoor areas with occasional bending and limited freedom of movement
- Damp or wet indoor locations where oil and chemical splash resistance is required
- Generator and motor terminal connection in protected environments
Cable Construction

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does the “oil resistant” rating mean for RVVY cable?
The outer sheath of the RVVY cable is made from a modified PVC compound formulated to resist mineral oils and cutting fluids commonly found in machine shops. It has been tested to ASTM and GB/T 2951.5 oil resistance standards, ensuring long‑term durability even in oily environments.
Q: Can I use RVVY cable in drag chains or highly dynamic cable carriers?
No. RVVY is designed for occasional flexing and fixed installation only. If your application requires continuous bending or travel in energy chains, we recommend exploring our TRVV and TRVVSP drag chain cable families. Request our technical selector guide for help matching the right cable to your motion requirements.
Q: What are the available core colours and number of cores?
We offer a range of configurations. Multicore cables up to 5 cores are supplied with standard power and control colours (black, light blue, brown, yellow/green). For conductors 0.5 mm² and above, a numeric printing scheme is used. Cables with more than 5 cores include a yellow/green earth conductor. Custom colour codes or numbering can be discussed for OEM requirements.
Q: Is the cable truly waterproof? What about humidity and condensation?
Yes, RVVY cable is rated for damp and wet indoor areas. The oil resistant PVC sheath provides a high degree of moisture protection, making it suitable for washing bays, pump rooms, and machine cooling areas. However, it is not intended for permanent submersion or outdoor UV exposure; please talk to our engineers if you need an outdoor‑rated or submersible cable.
Q: Can I get RVVY with UL certification for North American panels?
We can supply a UL‑recognized alternative rated up to 16 AWG, 300/300 V, 80 °C. This variant meets the same oil resistant requirements. Contact us with your voltage, AWG size and colour code preferences, and we will provide a matching UL file reference and quotation.
Q: What minimum order quantities and lead times can I expect?
We support both sample evaluation orders and full‑scale container shipments. Standard RVVY cables with popular cross‑sections are typically in stock. Made‑to‑order versions, custom sheath colours and bespoke core counts may require a short production lead time. Our sales team will provide a clear delivery schedule with your quotation.
