The TVVBPG shielded elevator control cable (traveling cable) is engineered to maximize operational efficiency and service life in modern lift systems. It delivers stable electrical control over long suspension lengths while reliably withstanding mechanical stress. As a shielded development of the established SKF504/805 design – equivalent to our SKF/80500 series, which adds a shielding layer to the SKF/80100 series – the TVVBPG is available with three selectable shielding constructions to address different interference environments.

Shielding options are listed in order of increasing cost:

  • High-frequency interference – aluminum Mylar tape wrap shield

  • Electromagnetic interference (EMI) – tinned copper wire braid shield

  • Broad-band interference – aluminum Mylar tape plus tinned copper wire braid composite shield

  • Conductor – multi-strand ultra-fine bare oxygen-free copper wire, compliant with VDE 0295 Class 5

  • Insulation – special-formulation PVC compound

    • Number coding: black insulation with white printed numbers, compliant with EN 50214

When to Integrate a Supporting Element

For flat-type elevator cables (conductors arranged in a parallel row)
When the free hanging length exceeds 35 m and the travel speed exceeds 1.6 m/s, a supporting element should be incorporated.

For cables with a bundled circular construction (cores laid up in a helical/star formation)
When the free hanging length exceeds 80 m and the travel speed falls between 4.0 m/s and 10.0 m/s, a supporting element must be considered.
