Detailed Description
KCCEU is the designation for European-standard flexible power and control cable with PVC/NBR insulation and an oil-resistant PVC/NBR jacket. It follows EN 50525-2-51, the harmonised European standard for flexible cables, and is intended for machine tools, conveyor systems and industrial machinery sold into or exported to the EU market.
Construction
| Element | Specification |
|---|---|
| Conductor | Bare copper, IEC 60228 Class 5 |
| Cross-sections | 0.5-35 mm² |
| Core count | 2-36 cores |
| Core insulation | PVC/NBR compound - oil and moisture resistant |
| Core identification | Colour coded per HD 308 S2 |
| Outer jacket | PVC/NBR compound; black or grey |
The PVC/NBR insulation provides good dielectric properties with enhanced mechanical flexibility. Class 5 stranding keeps the cable flexible enough for moving cable carriers and articulated machinery.
Oil Resistance and Service Conditions
The outer jacket, also PVC/NBR compound, resists mineral oils per ASTM No. 2 / IRM 902 - the condition that dominates machine tool installations where coolant and lubricant exposure is continuous. Compared with standard PVC cable, KCCEU offers approximately 30 % better oil resistance plus a wider usable temperature window:
- Moving installation: -5 °C to +70 °C, bend radius 7.5 × OD
- Fixed installation: -15 °C to +80 °C
Electrical Ratings
- Rated voltage: 300/500 V - the standard industrial control and power voltage for European machinery
- Test voltage: 2 000 V AC for 5 minutes
- Flame retardant: IEC 60332-1-2
- Compliance: CE, RoHS
Core Configurations
The cable is available with 2 to 36 cores across a 0.5-35 mm² cross-section range, colour coded per HD 308 S2 so that cores can be traced consistently against European machinery drawings.
Core identification follows HD 308 S2 across the whole range. The protective conductor is green-yellow; the remaining cores are colour coded or numbered so that a replacement run can be terminated against the original machine drawing without re-marking on site. Where several KCCEU runs enter the same cabinet, order the cores pre-numbered — the numbering is applied during stranding and cannot be added once the jacket has been extruded. For panel builders, the conductor count and the cross-section of the control cores are specified on the order, not taken from a stock list, so a 2-core 0.5 mm² lighting jumper and a 36-core 1.5 mm² control harness are built to the same standard without a minimum-order compromise.
Applications
- Machine tools and CNC equipment - flexible power and control wiring
- Assembly and conveyor lines - moving machinery cable carrier installation
- Packaging machines - flexible wiring for high-cycle automation
- European machinery export - standard EN-compliant industrial cable
