Wind Turbine Special Cable
Wind turbine cables operate permanently outdoors, often suspended vertically, and must withstand constant twisting (automatic yaw alignment), occasional oil exposure, and, in marine environments, seawater corrosion. They are engineered for high mechanical strength, torsion and flex resistance (high flexibility), vibration resistance, and oil resistance. For cold‑climate wind farms, the cable must also perform reliably at temperatures as low as ‑40 °C.
Designed for wind turbine generators (WTGs), these flexible torsion‑resistant cables are suitable for rotor applications and fixed installations inside the tower, rated up to 1.8/3 kV. Thanks to their robust construction, they are also widely used in aerospace, military, electronic, energy‑saving, wind power, street lighting, signaling, and energy‑efficient community projects.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How is this cable different from a standard flexible cable?
Wind turbine cables incorporate specialized core stranding, aramid fiber anti‑torsion layers, and robust outer sheath compounds to handle continuous twisting, vibration, and extreme weather – conditions that would quickly degrade a standard flexible cable.
2. Can the cable operate in extremely cold environments?
Yes. The fixed‑installation rating covers ‑40 °C to +70 °C, making it suitable for wind farms in harsh cold climates without loss of flexibility or mechanical integrity.
3. Is the cable resistant to oil and seawater?
Absolutely. The outer sheath and inner compound are formulated to resist oil and saltwater corrosion, ensuring long service life in offshore and heavily lubricated nacelle environments.
4. What voltage ratings are available?
Our wind turbine special cables are manufactured for rated voltages up to 1.8/3 kV. The standard design shown is 300/500 V; other ratings can be supplied on request.
5. Do you supply custom sheath colors and constructions?
Yes. In addition to grey, black, and orange, we can produce custom colors, adjust filler materials, or add extra screening layers according to your project specifications.
6. What certifications can you provide?
We can manufacture to international requirements such as IEC, UL/CSA, or other regional standards upon request. Please contact us with your certification needs.
