Detailed Description
UL2517 cable is a 300 V / 105 °C multi-conductor PVC power cable built for equipment wiring where a standard 80 °C cable is not enough. It uses lead-free tinned copper conductors, PVC insulation, and a flexible PVC jacket, and it is available in 2–12 conductors from 28 AWG to 14 AWG. A shielded twisted-pair version adds a tinned copper braid with ≥80% coverage for signal runs near VFDs, servo drives, and other noise sources.
What the UL2517 Cable Is Built For
UL2517 cable is designed for power and signal connections inside appliances, industrial machines, lighting fixtures, control panels, and electronic equipment. The 300 V / 105 °C rating lets it handle higher-temperature operating areas than lower-temperature PVC cables, while the stranded tinned copper conductor keeps the cable workable during cutting, stripping, and harness assembly. The standard version is a multi-conductor PVC cable; the shielded version is a twisted-pair cable with a tinned copper braid for noise-sensitive routes.

Performance You Can Verify
- Tinned copper resists oxidation and aging, with low resistance and low heat generation.
- The stranded construction is compact, glossy, and easy to cut; copper strands stay together during stripping.
- PVC insulation resists breakdown and discharge, does not oxidize easily, and self-extinguishes when the flame is removed.
- The shielded version uses a high-density tinned copper braid with ≥80% coverage.
- The PVC jacket is smooth, flexible, tough, and resistant to repeated folding.
Where UL2517 Cable Is Used
- Appliance power wiring and internal connections where a 105 °C PVC jacket is needed near motors or heating elements.
- Industrial machine power and control panel wiring in equipment cabinets.
- Lighting fixtures and LED drivers that require 300 V multi-conductor cable.
- PCB and internal harness connections in home appliances and security devices.
- Audio speakers and communication equipment where flexible multi-core wiring is routed through tight enclosures.
- Medical equipment internal wiring where VW-1 flame behavior and RoHS/REACH compliance are specified.
- Shielded twisted-pair version for drones, automotive robots, distribution boxes, and lithium battery packs where braid coverage reduces electrical noise.
Selection and Installation Notes
- Choose AWG and conductor count from Table 1 based on safe current and required outer diameter.
- Standard voltage rating is 300 V; standard temperature rating is 105 °C.
- Use the shielded twisted-pair version for noise-sensitive signal paths; available configurations are 2C × 20 AWG and 2C × 22 AWG.
- Verify the routing and the minimum bend radius with the equipment builder for your installation.
- The stranded tinned copper conductor is designed to stay together during stripping and harness assembly.
- Packaging options are 8 m, 32 m, 2000 Ft, and 300 m.
- Do not operate beyond 300 V / 105 °C without reviewing the application requirements.
Compliance, Configurations, and Ordering
The standard UL2517 version is listed with VW-1 flame rating and uses a RoHS 2.0 + NP jacket compound. REACH and CE are also listed for the standard version. The shielded version passes VW-1 and FT1 vertical burn tests and is SGS-tested to RoHS and REACH.
Available configurations include 2–12 conductors, 28–14 AWG, black or white jackets, and 8 m, 32 m, 2000 Ft, or 300 m packaging. The shielded twisted-pair version is shown as 2C × 20 AWG and 2C × 22 AWG; other multi-core or multi-spec configurations can be discussed. For 2 × 20 AWG shielded cable, core colors are shipped randomly, and yellow/green are not specified.
If your equipment needs a 300 V / 105 °C PVC cable with VW-1 flame behavior, send the required AWG, conductor count, shield requirement, jacket color, and length to confirm the build.
